Rising Above Trauma ("the App") is owned and operated by Dr. Mildred D. Muhammad, D.Hum and My F.O.C.U.S. LLC. We are committed to protecting the privacy, safety, and dignity of every person who uses this application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your personal data.

Your safety is our highest priority. This policy was written with survivors of domestic abuse and violence in mind.

1.1 Information You Provide:

When you create an account, we collect your name or preferred name and email address. When you use the app's features, we may collect information you voluntarily enter, including check-in entries and incident documentation, safety plan details, private notes, assailant names if voluntarily provided, safety ratings and emotional check-ins, and course progress and worksheet responses.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically:

We may collect basic technical information including device type, operating system version, and app usage data to improve app performance. We do not collect your precise location. We do not track your browsing activity outside of this app.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Your information is used solely to provide you with the features and services within the Rising Above Trauma app, including storing your check-in records and safety documentation privately and securely, tracking your course progress, personalizing your experience based on your selected path, and providing access to your safety plan and evidence records.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information. We do not share your information with third parties.

3. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

All data entered into Rising Above Trauma is encrypted and stored securely. Access to your personal data requires your login credentials. The app is designed with multiple layers of protection specifically for survivors of domestic abuse and violence, including automatic session clearing when the app goes to background, Quick Exit that immediately clears all authentication and session data, and Discreet Mode that disguises the app to protect your privacy.

4. DATA SHARING

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third party under any circumstances, except as required by law. If we are legally required to disclose information, we will notify you to the extent permitted by law.

5. THIRD PARTY SERVICES

Rising Above Trauma uses the following third party services:

RevenueCat: Manages subscription payments for Survivor Shield and Survivor Rise plans. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com.

Apple In-App Purchase and Google Play Billing: Process subscription payments on their respective platforms.

These services have their own privacy policies and data practices. We encourage you to review them.

6. EXTERNAL LINKS

The app contains links to external websites and services including the National DV Hotline, DomesticShelters.org, Findhelp.org, Amazon for physical book purchases, Apple Books for audiobook purchases, and the Rising Above It All store at beacons.ai. These external sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.

7. DATA RETENTION

Your personal data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the Settings screen in the app. Upon account deletion, all your personal data including check-ins, safety plans, notes, and course progress will be permanently deleted from our systems.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Rising Above Trauma is designed for adults 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information through this app, please contact us immediately at mildredmuhammad.com.

You have the right to access your personal data at any time through the app. You have the right to correct inaccurate information. You have the right to delete your account and all associated data. This information is collected solely for your protection and safety. It is encrypted, private, and never shared with any third party without your explicit consent.
